On Friday 19th June, our Sustainability team joined Recorra, a local waste management company, for a community clean-up along the Thames at Gabriel’s Wharf, right next to the iconic OXO Tower.

With fantastic views across to St Paul’s Cathedral, the setting made it easy to see why these spaces are worth looking after.
Sustainability team in action

Stepping away from their desks, Beth Jepson, Senior Sustainability Manager, and Fergus Adams, Sustainability Manager, grabbed a picker and took part in the sunshine.
Tools and teamwork

Thanks to Recorra, who provided all the necessary equipment, including litter pickers, waste bags, and high‑visibility jackets, it was easy for everyone to get stuck in, and in just over an hour, the group collected an impressive 13.1kg of waste.
Events like this are a great reminder of the impact we can have when we step away from our desks and into the community. Not only do they help create cleaner, healthier public spaces, but they also bring people together around a shared purpose.
A huge thank you to everyone who took part – we’re really proud to play our part in keeping the Thames and its surroundings clean, and look forward to the next one!
