Parkeray Regions recently created a brand-new workspace in Cambridge on behalf of the multinational software company Autodesk.

Relocating from an existing office in the area to One Station Square, the 5,000 sq ft space, designed by Suttonca is tailored to meet their specific workplace needs, while incorporating Cambridge’s local identity.

Our team led by Darryl Dillon, created a new work environment across one level comprising open-plan, agile workspace, a selection of meeting and wellbeing spaces. At its heart, a central breakout area encourages collaboration and connection, featuring a tea point, flexible seating, and an AV wall.

A strong Cambridge theme runs throughout the design, with manifestations on glazed partitions celebrating influential alumni—Turing, Newton, and Darwin.

Careful forward planning was key to meeting the tight 12-week programme, particularly in coordinating deliveries within a site constrained by limited storage space.

This high-quality commercial office fit out further reinforces Parkeray Regions’ presence in Cambridge’s growing technology and software development sector. Well done to all involved.

Parkeray recently completed the fit out of PwC’s new offices in Reading, creating a bright, modern space tailored to support their relocation and evolving workplace requirements.

Under the leadership of Graham Smith, Joe Hanrahan and Nathan Wright, our team delivered a 40,000 sq ft workspace at the prominent One Station Hill development for the global professional services firm.

The fit out, spread over two floors, features impressive client-facing spaces including a stunning reception with a bespoke desk, eye-catching feature wall, cozy seating booths, and breakout areas. The workspace includes open-plan practice areas, meeting rooms, and well-appointed tea points—designed with both functionality and style in mind.

A standout element is the striking interconnecting staircase, completed alongside a fire curtain installation as landlord works, adding bold visual centrepiece to the space.

An Outstanding BREEAM Rating
Sustainability was a core priority from the outset, with the project targeting WELL Platinum certification and a BREEAM Outstanding rating. Achieving an impressive score of 94.6%, it stands as our highest-rated BREEAM project to date, with WELL certification currently pending.

Fittings and Finishes
The fit out showcases several bespoke details, from a timber-slatted corridor to custom joinery and a tailor-made reception desk. But the real showstopper is the staircase, timber clad, made from perforated metal, it’s finished in vibrant wet-sprayed orange with integrated lighting, making a memorable impact. Acoustics is another dominant feature throughout the space with rafts, baffles and wall panelling – all sympathetic to the offices modern design.

Overcoming Challenges
The project ran smoothly thanks to excellent teamwork between our team, subcontractors, and PwC. Regular catchups with the client and architects helped us stay on track and quickly address any concerns.

A notable challenge was coordinating works around the building’s single goods lift, shared by three contractors, which required careful planning to manage deliveries and waste removal efficiently.

Design & Innovation
The team embraced innovation by using robotic technology for setting out partitions, ensuring pinpoint accuracy and reducing human error, a real game-changer in improving efficiency.

Collaborative Approach
From the start, regular workshops with PwC and subcontractors ensured everyone was aligned, paving the way for a seamless build and a fantastic result.

The completed project demonstrates Parkeray’s collaborative approach and attention to detail, delivering a sustainable, future-ready workspace that supports PwC’s people and enhances the One Station Hill development.

Parkeray Lite recently delivered a fast-track fit-out at the Edward Hyde Building in Watford on behalf of McGinley Support Services.

This project marks our team’s second scheme within the building, having previously delivered their office space in 2020. This time, we returned to support our client’s relocation from the ground floor to the second floor.

Working directly with the client, our designers, and the furniture and M&E contractors, we developed an efficient new layout for their offices while retaining as much of their existing furniture as possible.

We also liaised with the landlord to manage and complete the licence to alter process. Collaborative working was central to the project’s success, supported by detailed workshops with all stakeholders.

Despite an extremely tight six-week programme, our team coordinated the furniture installation alongside the fit-out works to ensure a seamless delivery, enabling our client to move into their new space in record time.

Well done to all involved and the team led by Ricky Hedges, Leo Asamoah and Gordon Rose.

Setting a New Benchmark in Sustainable Office Fit-Out

At Parkeray, we’re proud to have delivered one of our most ambitious and sustainable workplace fit-outs to date on behalf of Grant Thornton UK. Relocating after more than 20 years, Grant Thornton viewed its move to 8 Finsbury Circus as far more than a change of address, it was an opportunity to reimagine what a future-focused, people-centred office could be. The result is a bold transformation of 100,000 sq ft across seven floors, setting a new benchmark for sustainable office design and fit-out in the UK.

A Strategic Framework for Sustainable Office Design

Working in close collaboration with Grant Thornton UK, JLL, BEYOND Sustainability and architects HLW, the project was shaped around a clear sustainability framework focused on carbon reduction, circularity, wellbeing, community impact, biophilic design and supply chain equity.

This approach delivered exceptional outcomes, including a 79% reduction in embodied carbon, a 23% reduction in operational carbon, and the reuse or donation of 82.7% of furniture. More than 2,300 items were donated to ten local schools, ensuring zero waste to landfill.

Sustainability by Design: A Reuse-First Fit-Out

From Stage 2, our team and delivery partners adopted a reuse-first mindset, auditing existing assets and designing creatively around them. Highlights included reassembling a six-metre bar into a new café space, reusing structured cabling across five floors, and retaining major communications infrastructure.

In total, we achieved 100% reuse of raised access flooring, 57% reuse of finishes, and 82% furniture reuse, significantly reducing embodied carbon while maintaining quality and performance.

Inclusive, People-First Spaces

People were central to every decision. Extensive staff consultation and input from Grant Thornton’s disability steering group shaped a workspace that supports neurodiversity, accessibility, sensory comfort and wellbeing, from prayer and reflection rooms to community-focused social spaces.

Building a Responsible Supply Chain

By limiting suppliers to a 100-mile radius, 78% were local businesses and 70% SMEs or diverse-owned companies, strengthening social value while cutting emissions.

A Blueprint for Change

This project proves that sustainable workplace design and fit-outs can deliver meaningful environmental and social impact without compromise. With bold goals and the right partnerships, it’s possible to create inspiring, low-impact workplaces that benefit both people and the planet.

Parkeray is proud to announce the successful completion of a 40,000 sq ft workplace fit out for Uber’s new London headquarters, located in Aldgate.

This exciting project supports Uber’s relocation and future expansion plans, delivering a dynamic and flexible workspace that reflects the innovative spirit of the global technology brand.

Spread across three floors, the time-sensitive scheme included both Cat A and Cat B renovations, with a strong focus on reuse and sustainability. Our team delivered high-quality spaces while actively reducing waste by repurposing existing materials such as kitchen appliances, lockers, and meeting room elements.

A Vibrant Workplace for Work and Play

The scope included upgrades to existing facilities on two floors and full construction on one additional level. The result is a vibrant, multi-functional workspace with bright, colourful design and a range of collaborative and social zones, including open-plan and private meeting spaces, games room and library, townhall and events spaces, a central canteen with servery, reception and IT support areas and tea points on every floor.

Events Space with a View

The 15th-floor function space offers panoramic views across London, with access to an external balcony area, a newly extended tea point, and metallic wall finishes enhancing the space. A more streamlined layout was achieved in the conference area by reducing the sliding folding partitions from three to one. Flexible furniture and audio-visual solutions mean the space can accommodate many different purposes.

Smart Services and Sustainable Adaptation

A key element of the project involved significant services upgrades, including the installation of additional rooftop AHUs, new kitchen extract, supplementary AC. The existing commercial kitchen was enhanced with a new dish-drop and washing area and new walk-in refrigeration. The servery and café seating zone was completely renewed with AV, games area, bespoke joinery, lighting, tiled flooring and dividing walls.

This project is a showcase of how creative reuse, sustainability, and design excellence can come together to deliver a future-proof workplace for one of the world’s most forward-thinking companies.

Congratulations to all involved.

We are thrilled to have been appointed the 40,000 sq ft fit-out of PwC UK’s new office at One Station Hill, Reading! To kick things off, our team hosted a special meet and greet for the client, giving them a tour of our tech-forward setup.

This project comprises the fit-out of two floors, including the construction of an interconnecting staircase.

We’re always looking for ways to use the latest technology to improve our work. For this project, we used digital signage and robotics to precisely lay out the floor plan. This helped the client visualise the blueprint, saving time and reducing errors. It also allowed our team to accelerate the 18-week schedule and hit the ground running.

And a special thank you to Graham Smith and the team for hosting and to all our guests for attending. We’re excited to see how this fantastic project progresses!

At Parkeray, we pride ourselves on transforming spaces into vibrant, high-performance environments that align with our clients’ visions. Our recent project at 25 Victoria St exemplifies this approach, involving refurbishing three vacant floors to create modern, ready-to-let office spaces within an 18-week programme.

The client’s objective was to enhance the building’s marketability by delivering a mix of Cat A and Cat A+ fit outs ready for immediate occupation. This included bespoke spaces like meeting rooms, breakout areas, kitchenette facilities, upgraded staircases, and reception areas designed to elevate tenant appeal. A sequenced approach was taken for the fit-out of the reception, ensuring the space remained operational throughout the works.

One of the standout features was the installation of full-height bespoke timber slats on the Ground Floor with a ceiling height of 3,700mm. This required meticulous collaboration with our joinery and structural teams to achieve the desired finish.

Given the live reception area and unforeseen issues such as non-compliant fire damper installations, we tailored our approach to maintain progress and resolve challenges efficiently. Collaborative early design workshops with IDL Architecture and the client’s team ensured swift decision-making, aligning aesthetic goals with technical feasibility.

Despite a one-week extension due to unexpected fire strategy upgrades, the project was delivered successfully, leaving the building ready to attract new tenants. A fantastic achievement by all parties involved.

At Parkeray, we pride ourselves on creating tailored spaces that meet our clients’ needs. Our latest project involved the refurbishment of two office floors within a busy, occupied building to create pristine Cat A spaces ready for the market. Together with developer and asset manager, Related Argent, our team delivered this scheme on behalf of King’s Cross Central Limited Partnership.

This project required stripping out the existing Cat B space, including partitions, and redesigning the space to deliver clean, symmetrical design achieved through meticulous service coordination and reconfigurations across Levels 1 and 2. Bespoke joinery in the toilet areas and decorative panels in the lift lobbies added a polished touch, ensuring the space was functional and visually appealing for prospective tenants.

Working in a fully occupied building with existing tenants above the floor plate areas presented logistical challenges, including noise restrictions and limited access to a shared goods lift. Our team overcame these obstacles through careful planning, scheduling noisy works out of hours and optimising the use of shared resources.

Collaboration was key to the project’s success. Partnering with King’s Cross Estates Services, we coordinated the isolation of critical life safety and water systems and ensured that all work was completed seamlessly with minimal disruption.

Thanks to our proactive approach and attention to detail, the project was delivered on time and to the highest standards, creating a market-ready office space that combines functionality with modern design.

Parkeray was delighted to support the national education charity Absolute Return for Kids (ARK) with the fit-out of its new headquarters at EdCity, a new state-of-the-art office building in White City, London.

This community initiative, which celebrates the partnership between Hammersmith and Fulham Council and ARK, led to the Cat B fit-out of four floors. The 30,000 sq ft scheme included constructing a bright and airy coworking reception area and café, modern open-plan offices, meeting rooms, and state-of-the-art event facilities.

The contemporary design by architects Perkins + Will boasts several bespoke features, including a staircase connecting the ground and first floors, staged theatre space, and plenty of joinery features such as booth seating, acoustic timber wall panelling, and tea points.

The mechanical and electrical elements of the project involved reconfiguring and reusing the existing Cat A services, such as lighting, ductwork, and grilles. Additionally, fan coil units (FCUs) and mechanical ventilation with heat recovery (MVHR) units were fitted to the ground floor café and ninth floor, alongside new small power and data connections to communication rooms spread across three floors.

The fit-out of this remarkable building forms part of the ongoing redevelopment of White City. It is helping to create 1,000 jobs while providing a permanent home for Ark and other organisations and businesses. We are proud to support this fantastic initiative. Congratulations to Dan Ryding and the team for the successful execution of this project.
