Parkeray Lite recently delivered a fast-track fit-out at the Edward Hyde Building in Watford on behalf of McGinley Support Services.

This project marks our team’s second scheme within the building, having previously delivered their office space in 2020. This time, we returned to support our client’s relocation from the ground floor to the second floor.

Working directly with the client, our designers, and the furniture and M&E contractors, we developed an efficient new layout for their offices while retaining as much of their existing furniture as possible.

We also liaised with the landlord to manage and complete the licence to alter process. Collaborative working was central to the project’s success, supported by detailed workshops with all stakeholders.

Despite an extremely tight six-week programme, our team coordinated the furniture installation alongside the fit-out works to ensure a seamless delivery, enabling our client to move into their new space in record time.

Well done to all involved and the team led by Ricky Hedges, Leo Asamoah and Gordon Rose.

Parkeray Lite is thrilled to announce the completion of phase one of our project at 75 Grosvenor Street, delivered on behalf of our longstanding client, Landmark Space.

This project involved transforming underutilised space within the lower ground, ground, first and third floors of a modern new build and a Grade II listed property—into premium, market-ready, flexible office facilities. Our team took great pride in supporting this conversion, creating stunning office environments that blend contemporary design with the building’s historic charm.

The newly fitted-out spaces feature a variety of impressive office areas such as open-plan workspaces, cellular meeting rooms, breakout spaces and collaborative areas to encourage teamwork and relaxation. There is also well-appointed tea points and an elegant dining area complete with a bar, perfect for client meetings or employee gatherings.

Heritage Challenges

Working within a Grade II listed building presented several unique challenges which included careful planning such as coordinating services across both buildings and integrating the data infrastructure. Noise management was also a key consideration, as the building remained partially occupied during the construction phase.

The team successfully navigated these complexities, preserving the building’s original flooring while integrating modern amenities. We refreshed existing fireplaces to maintain their historical appeal while ensuring they complemented the contemporary design.

Creating market-ready office space meant working closely with the Landmark Space Sales & Marketing teams. Regular communication enabled the team to conduct tours during construction, providing potential tenants with a glimpse of the project’s progress.

Bespoke Design and Detailing

The project features numerous bespoke elements that enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the space. Wall panelling, partition systems, unique lighting solutions, and picture rail detailing add character and sophistication. These elements were carefully developed using timber mock-up systems and guided by the architects to ensure they aligned with the building’s heritage.

Weekly design meetings proved crucial for addressing and resolving any issues that arose. Dimensions within the original design were re-marked, and floor boxes were reconfigured, with additional power added to accommodate furniture configurations. Alterations to walls allowed for the installation of light fittings, and wallpaper issues were resolved through careful sectioning and approval processes.

Due to the success of this project, we are thrilled to have been awarded additional works within these fabulous buildings. Watch this space!

Insurance Group Navium Marine is the latest client to experience a refreshing 100% hassle-free fit out by Parkeray Lite.

Our small works team led by Ben Coumbe recently delivered their new HQ space at 37-39 Lime Street in time to celebrate their second birthday.

A One-Stop-Shop Solution
Having outgrown their existing office, Navium Marine wanted to develop a new workspace with the “wow” factor to welcome clients and brokers and for the project to fall within their budget.

Parkeray Lite led sprang into action and worked directly with Navium Marine to bring the vision for their new office space to life. Using images of various office designs sent by the client, Parkeray Lite completed visits to furniture showrooms and sample workshops to assist the decision-making process and offered them a one-stop-shop, design and build solution, which provided a ‘bang for their buck’.

A Refreshing Fit Out
The magical refurbishment of the Cat A space began with stripping out the existing interior before implementing the new design. Plasterboard and glazed partitions provide the foundation for the new office layout, which includes general open plan areas, meeting rooms, a wellness room, a storeroom, and a comms room. In addition to a tea point and breakout space with feature lighting.

The team at Parkeray Lite went above and beyond in achieving a great result that met both budget and timeline. Their support, with regular updates and contact from the PM and CM, meant the entire project went as smoothly as possible.

Alice Edwards | Navium Marine Ltd

Finishes included new floor coverings in LVT timber and carpet, with walls painted off-white. Parkeray Lite made minor adjustments to the existing MEP services to serve the new space, including air conditioning systems, electrical power, lighting, and plumbing, to the new kitchen. The existing ceilings were generally retained, with new MF plasterboard ceilings installed in meeting rooms and feature areas.

The 3,600 sq ft space was transformed over eight weeks, resulting in the best possible outcome – our client moving into their new home in time to celebrate their birthday. Hooray!

Since revealing Parkeray Lite; the construction industry’s prime hydrating drink on April Fool’s Day, the question on everyone’s mind is whether Parkeray Lite is real or fake. To clear up any confusion, we have answered your questions below!

What is Parkeray Lite?
Parkeray Lite is our dedicated small works team, who specialises in projects from £2K up to the value of £500K. Parkeray Lite has been servicing commercial office spaces across London and the home counties for 21 years. Responsive and mobile with plenty of experience working in live environments, they are the go-to service for landlords, tenants, and serviced office providers, who require construction solutions they can rely on and trust. After all, Parkeray Lite is 100% hassle-free! Typical works include Cat A and B works, space planning and alterations, reception installations, dilapidations and end-of-trip facilities, to name a few.

Is Parkeray Lite a real drink?
After being mistaken for a diet drink or our lighting division for so long, we decided to put the power of Parkeray Lite into a can and produce a real drink for promotional purposes.

Who is the man who appears in a puff of smoke?
That would be Jason, who heads up Parkeray Lite. We like to think of Jason as our Lite genie. Although we cannot promise he will arrive in a puff of blue smoke, he responds to customers quickly.

Is Parkeray Lite available to purchase in stores?
Not currently, but who knows what the future holds.

Who produced the video?
We partnered with the creative video production agency Wild Stag Studio to deliver our fantastic ad. They nailed the narrative and made the concept a reality.

How can you be an employee of the month?
Experience the sweet taste of recognition by contacting Parkeray Lite today. Did you know it is 100% hassle-free?

We hope this clears up any confusion about Parkeray Lite. If you have not watched our video, please click here.

Making light work out of small jobs, Parkeray LITE has been an integral part of Parkeray’s service offering for over 19 years. Our LITE Managing Director Jason Pitts answers a few questions about his fab team and how they serve a diverse range of clients.

SO, JASON, FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT KNOW, WHAT IS PARKERAY LITE?
Contrary to popular belief we are not Parkeray’s lighting division. We are Parkeray’s small (and I like to think special) works division. Parkeray has always offered small works but recognising that these types of projects require a more streamlined approach and structure, we officially launched LITE in 2002.

WHAT TYPE OF SERVICES DOES LITE OFFER NEW AND EXISTING CLIENTS?
Existing clients have the comfort of a continued dedicated service to meet their needs, with cost-effective planning/installations to maintain and enhance their office environments. We also support our Interiors arm with client aftercare on many completed major projects.

For new (and naturally existing) clients, we understand that not one service suits all so we tailor our approach to fit their needs. We offer a range of services: upfront budgeting and initial project advice; space planning and design services from our architect and design partners, as well as offering a range of construction approaches such as small works, frameworks, term contracting, dilapidation works and summer works, especially within the education sector.

YOU HAVE MENTIONED PARKERAY INTERIORS, HOW DOES LITE DIFFER FROM THEM?
For all intents and purposes, we really are one and the same, we call ourselves an ‘internal arm’ of Parkeray. What this means; is that we are built from the same foundations. I have personally been part of this family since the beginning, which (scarily) is coming up 23 years; we have a strong set of ethics and core messages upon which we set the business up and we follow exactly the same format; that of providing a professional fit out service to our clients and consultants alike but in a non-confrontational, noncontractual manner.

What makes the LITE team different is how we are structured, this makes us very competitive within the small works bracket, which we perceive as being projects up to £500,000. We have Quick Response Vehicles, or in the real world, a number of vans. This is a huge asset as we can reach our clients all over London and the Home Counties quickly and can respond to those all-important small works that require immediate focus. We will respond within 24 hours and will deploy our team within 48.

PICK THREE WORDS THAT BEST DESCRIBE YOUR TEAM?
Warm, experienced and dedicated (with an appreciation for shortbread).

WHAT’S YOUR MOST MEMORABLE PROJECT AND WHY?
It was a Brighton themed fit out that involved creating a man-made beach with deck chairs and a funfair for a well-known technology company. We pride ourselves on our repeat and negotiated business, we have been working with this very cool client consistently for the past 7 years and in that time have undertaken 14 projects with them.

WHAT’S THE SMALLEST PROJECT LITE HAS COMPLETED?
An office dilapidation in Mayfair with £200 worth of decorations for a longstanding repeat client. We really will provide a service if we possibly can, no matter how small.

Our dedicated small works team Parkeray LITE recently completed the 4,000 sq ft refurbishment of office space on behalf of the Royal College of Midwives (RCM) at 10-18 Union Street, Southwark.

The RCM is a professional organisation and trade union dedicated to serving midwifery. Having relocated to new headquarters within a warehouse building their new office space required a ‘LITE’ transformation to provide a modern and fun working environment for their staff and members.

Our team led by LITE Project Manager David Posiadlo, delivered the scheme as a full Design & Build contract to a programme of 10 weeks and partnered with London architecture firm Adams + Collingwood Architects for the fit-out of workspace. The calm and bold brief combines RCM’s rich history with contemporary office design to promote collaboration, flexibility and accessible working requirements.

The scope of works included strip out and minor structural works which saw our team overcome the challenge of lowering the floor level to the Creative Hub, with limited access to an operational floor below. This was achieved by setting up a safe and comprehensive system of works. Repairs were also carried out to the existing M&E installations and a new lift installed to improve disabled access in addition to ceiling repairs, partitions, joinery, flooring and decorations throughout.

By implementing Parkeray’s COVID secure work strategy, this project was completed on time despite the pandemic, with social distancing in place and a limited number of contractors working on-site. The team was kept up to date with progress through Zoom meetings and video updates and workshops were held with our supply chain and the professional team to ensure all elements of the project fitted together seamlessly.

“It has been a pleasure working with the Parkeray team to deliver the RCM project. They have a friendly can-do attitude and adapted to the new Covid measures with professionalism. The execution of the design is a tribute to their skills and expertise. We can’t wait for the next collaboration.”

Tamsin Bryant – Adams + Collingwood Architects

The result is a light, spacious, modern office environment, which incorporates a variety of working areas for all to enjoy. The dropped floor to RCM’s Creative Hub creates the wow factor, whilst providing discreet storage space and the open-plan layout boasts style as well as function by meeting RCM’s accessible working requirements. Our client could not be happier with their new home. Nice work Parkeray LITE!

The Lite team makes Lite work out of small jobs and have been an integral part of our service offering for over 15 years.  Our Lite Contracts Director Jason Pitts answers a few questions about Parkeray Lite.

So, Jason, for those who do not know, what is Parkeray Lite?Contrary to popular belief we are not Parkeray’s lighting division. We are the small (and I like to think special) works division at Parkeray. Parkeray has always offered small works but recognising that these types of projects require a more streamlined approach and structure, we officially launched Lite in 2002.

We are a dedicated team of talented and approachable construction professionals that provides a personal fit out service within the commercial and education sectors.

Our working relationships are based on trust and we have developed a good rapport with a number of our clients over many years. For the most part, the nature of our work involves working in live environments and occupied buildings, so understanding our clients’ needs and business operations is not only critical but provides them with ‘peace of mind’. It’s also the reason why a high proportion of work is awarded to us on a repeat basis.

What type of services does Lite offer new and existing clients?
We work closely with existing clients by complimenting and extending the services of the interiors division through continued customer care on completed projects. We are there to support our clients during their transition in their new space and can manage any further small moves they may require.

For new (and naturally existing) clients, we understand that not one service suits all so we tailor our approach to fit their needs.  We offer a range of services: upfront budgeting and initial project advice; space planning and design services from our architect and design partners, as well as offering a range of construction approaches such as:

Churn
Small works
Frameworks
Term contracting
Dilapidation works
Summer works, especially within the education sector

You have mentioned Parkeray Interiors, how do Lite differ from them?
For all intents and purposes, we really are one in the same, we call ourselves an ‘internal arm’ of Parkeray. What this means is that we are built of the same foundations. I have personally been part of this family since the beginning, which (scarily) is coming up 20 years; we have a strong set of ethics and core messages upon which we set the business up and we follow exactly the same format – that of providing a professional fit out service to our clients and consultants alike but in a non-confrontational, non-contractual manner.

What makes the Lite team different is how we are structured, this makes us very competitive within the small works bracket, which we perceive as being projects up to £250,000.  We have Quick Response Vehicles, or in the real world, a number of vans. This is a huge asset as we are able to reach our clients all over London and the Home Counties quickly and can respond to those all-important small churn works that require immediate focus. We will respond within 24 hours and will deploy our team within 48.

Pick three words that best describe your team?
Warm, experienced and dedicated (with an appreciation for shortbread).

What’s your most memorable project and why?
It was a Brighton themed fit-out which involved creating a manmade beach with deck chairs and a funfair for a well-known technology company. What’s the smallest project Lite has completed?
An office dilapidation in Mayfair with £200 worth of decorations for a longstanding repeat client. We really will provide a service if we possibly can, no matter how small.

How do clients contact you with their project requirements?
