Who We Are

We are builders and proud to be so; our prime focus is on the interior fitting out and refurbishment of commercial premises and all that it brings.

Our geographical reach is not restricted but does in real terms predominantly see us delivering projects in London, the Home Counties, and the Golden Arc. Every project to us is a meaningful opportunity, we are comfortable with scale – big or small.

Our Philosophy

In simple terms: work hard, work very very hard, but make sure you find time to play as well. Be respectful and be honest, get on with people and do what you say, and take responsibility.

We employ individuals but we build teams, our goal is to be your contractor of choice.

Our Clients

From developers, management funds and landlords to corporate end-users and coworking office providers, we enjoy working with clients from a broad range of sectors. We understand that every project presents a unique set of challenges that require a special skill set and the right team to provide the best solutions. We make the project delivery process as easy as possible for our clients – which stands to reason why so many of them return to work with us time and time again.

Health & Safety

At Parkeray, our health and safety culture is led from the very top in everything we do. Every individual who works with us is vitally important and equally valued.

Our approach to health and safety is one of no compromise and is very much reflected in our health and safety motto “Safety – Live with it, we think you’re worth it”. Sometimes, the health and safety message needs to be delivered robustly, but this is always done with the utmost respect to all concerned.

A number of different external auditors assess our processes and procedures, which provides our clients and supply chain partners with the peace of mind that our projects and protocols meet the highest safety standards.

Creating Sustainable Workplaces

Sustainability and improving occupant wellbeing are key objectives for clients fitting out new workplaces. In recent years our in-house sustainability experts, have supported approximately £110M worth of projects to achieve either BREEAM, Ska, Fitwel, WELL or LEED ratings. We are well placed to advise our clients on the best means of achieving their sustainability goals and to support them on their journey.

Managing Our Climate Impact

Our Net Zero Aspiration…

Science Based Targets
We have taken the first steps towards becoming a net zero organisation by developing our net zero strategy in accordance with the Science Based Target initiative (SBTi) for small and medium enterprises.

The SBTi have verified our scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas inventory and have validated our near-term science-based emission reduction target. We aim to reduce our scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions by 38% by 2030, and to measure and reduce scope 3 emissions.

Net Zero logoCarbon Reduction and Circular Economy

To deliver our net zero ambitions we need to reduce the carbon intensity of our business and the fit outs we deliver for our clients.

Approximately, 80% of our scope 3 emissions are associated with the embodied carbon of materials we install. By increasing the proportion of recycled and reused material used in our fit outs, we expect to make a significant reduction in our overall carbon footprint.

As our supply chain are responsible for the majority of our carbon emissions, we are engaging with them, to ensure they have a full understanding of our net zero objectives. We will support them to review their current working practices, reporting protocols, and to set science-based targets to significantly reduce their carbon footprint.

Wellbeing

The mental health and wellbeing of our people is important to us. We want everyone to feel comfortable and supported in their working environment. Partnering with Mates in Mind, hosting wellbeing breakfasts with Construction Sport, and Respect Coffee Mornings are just a few of the initiatives we organise to help support individuals and promote a healthy work-life balance. We also have six mental health advisors on hand for support within the business should anyone need to talk or seek professional advice.

Parkeray’s Positive Impact

Having a positive impact on people, projects, and the community

As a company that places people at the heart of all that we do, our commitment to social value is of immense importance to us.

Parkeray’s Positive Impact Program sets out to maximise opportunities where we can make a difference and focuses on our teams, the spaces we deliver and the communities where we operate.

We lend our time, skills, and expertise to a wide range of activities throughout the year with the full support of the wider Parkeray family – our supply chain.

Our social value objectives include:

  • Increasing the proportion of our corporate spending with Small & Medium Enterprises within the Greater London Area
  • Supporting and influencing health and wellbeing in the workforce
  • Providing a working environment where people feel comfortable and supported
  • Giving back to local community initiatives

We have set clear measures to achieve our vision and adopted the National Themes, Outcomes, and Measures (TOMS) Framework to express the good we do.

Here are just a few examples where our team have made a difference:

ELHAP OFFICE SPACE IN WOODFORD GREEN

We were thrilled to partner with our client Brookfield Properties and BDG Architecture to refresh Elhap’s office in Woodford Green. We converted the existing storeroom and meeting room into three new office spaces and a meeting room over four weeks to provide a modern workplace environment for the charities staff and guests.

It is amazing seeing the before pictures; it is like someone has come in and waved a magic wand over ELHAP! I know, however, it is actually pure hard graft that gets the work done, as well as a lot of cajoling and a huge amount of goodwill.”

Johanna Merry | Chief Executive | Elhap

PARKERAY’S FOOD BANK APPEAL

We proudly joined The Trussell Trust and its network of foodbanks in the fight against food poverty, by running a two-week foodbank appeal across our sites and HQ.

Together with our staff and fantastic supply chain members, we raised 376.8kg of food, which provided foodbanks local to our projects in Crawley, Hackney, and Southampton with 38 three-day emergency parcels over the Christmas period. We also donated funds to the sum of £1,650 to this worthy cause, which created an additional 52 three-day emergency parcels for individuals and families in need.

“Thank you for joining the fight for a hunger-free Hackney!”

EVERGREEN ADVENTURE PLAYGROUND CENTRE

Together with our client British Land and supply chain, we dedicated our time and skills to renovating the Evergreen Adventure Playground Centre in Hackney. It had been some time since the centre received a refresh, so our team was happy to assist. The scope of work included electrical works, upgrading welfare facilities including a new kitchen to a breakout area as well as external works comprising waterproofing a storage area. We also installed LEDs on the perimeter of the building.

“A big thank you for all the fantastic work you have done at the playground. We really appreciate it!”

Quality

Our reputation and ultimately the future success of our company as a whole, directly hinges on the quality of the service and product that we offer. We want to shine and we want you to remember us for it. Please click on the logo below to view our policy.

Financial Stability

At Parkeray, we manage our cash responsibly and use our funds to maintain business and financial continuity. Life does not always run smoothly, but because of how we operate, we are able to smooth over the peaks and troughs.

Since we began trading, we have retained over two-thirds of our post-tax profits and can demonstrate financial stability and security. By sticking to our principles and managing our resources carefully and responsibly, we feel we are giving ourselves the best chance of being here for a long time.

Supply Chain

“Our experience of working together has continued through a combined effort to provide our mutual client with a 1st class service throughout.”
Dean Crane, Director, Mala Engineering

We are only as good as our supply chain partners!

They play a huge role in bringing our projects to fruition, from feasibility and costing advice to completing package works to the highest standard.

Adopting the Parkeray ethos, supporting our projects, and dedicating their time and labour to our Positive Impact Program are just a few reasons why we consider our supply chain part of the Parkeray family.

Ensuring our supply chain is up to date with our business activities makes the Parkeray Partnership Forum a key event in the annual diary. It’s here that we share successes; promote health and safety, sustainability, and wellbeing, while driving fairness and excellence across our service delivery in an open, honest, robust and respectful way.

Subcontractor Health & Safety Compliance

The documents relating to Health & Safety for our supply chain set out our requirements to ensure all trade contractors conform to our processes and procedures as well as their own company aspects.

If your company thinks they can work well in partnership with us and would like to be considered for our approved supply chain list, please contact Adrian Grint.

Staff Development

We provide an environment that inspires individuals to reach their full potential. Whether you are new to the construction sector or at an advanced level of your career, we provide opportunities to develop and grow through structured development plans tailored to meet individual needs and our Graduate Trainee Apprenticeship Scheme.

Development in our future has always been paramount in everything that we do, and we are extremely proud that 20% of our staff base is represented by members of our Graduate Trainee Apprenticeship Scheme – past and present.
