As part of our ongoing partnership with Cranford Community College, Parkeray’s Sustainability team recently delivered a full day of STEM sessions designed to inspire the next generation in construction.

Beth Jepson, Senior Sustainability Manager; Chris Blencowe, Environmental & Sustainability Director; Fergus Adams, Sustainability Manager; Joe Murray, Assistant Sustainability Manager and Joseph Abbott, Assistant Project Manager swapped hard hats for learning plans, engaging with more than 230 students!
The session began with an introduction to Parkeray and an overview of the impactful work of our Sustainability team. Students also enjoyed a video showcasing one of our standout projects, a completed fit-out for Uber, giving them a real-world glimpse into how spaces are transformed.
To bring construction to life, the team set students a fun, competitive challenge of who could build the tallest tower using spaghetti and marshmallows.
Working in groups, students demonstrated problem-solving, collaboration, and engineering skills and each class crowned a winner for the tallest and most stable build! Check out one of the impressive creations below:

The students’ enthusiasm and curiosity shone through in their thoughtful questions, from asking about our favourite projects to taking an interest in our drone footage.
The day was a great opportunity to engage with young learners, share knowledge about sustainability and careers in construction. Mahavir Ladva, a member of Cranford’s Senior Leadership Team, shared this sentiment, saying:
“The activities you ran were brilliant – our students were buzzing with excitement. We’re so grateful you chose to spend the day with us. It means a lot to know that Parkeray are willing to invest in our students’ futures. We’d love to welcome you back again — the impact you’ve had will stay with them for a long time.”
We’re proud to have created an inspiring environment for learning and creativity and look forward to continuing our collaboration with Cranford Community College and empowering more young minds to explore the possibilities ahead.
