Parkeray redesigns reception space in Cambridge

Our team delivered a comprehensive Cat B fit-out which transformed the 2,000 sq ft ground floor reception area at 21 Station Road, Cambridge on behalf of Railpen, to offer a more inviting, front-of-house environment for tenants.

High quality and hospitality-led

Over 15 weeks, the redesign included selective strip‑out, new partitions, upgraded floor, wall and ceiling finishes, feature lighting, and access‑controlled entrance screens with speed gates for enhanced security. A new accessible WC was added, complete with coordinated tiling, fittings and ironmongery, all seamlessly integrated with retained base‑build elements.

Every detail coordinated

The design centred around high‑quality materials and thoughtful detailing. Stand out features include the terracotta floor tiles that run throughout the space, creating a warm, contemporary feel, complemented by a bespoke joinery reception desk and bar‑style seating area.

A key part of the project was our close partnership with architect Suttonca, and together we worked hand in hand to ensure every finish, layout decision and access requirement was fully coordinated. This included material selection, lighting, and spatial planning, all of which were carefully considered to create a warm, hospitality‑led reception that meets operational, accessibility and aesthetic needs without affecting neighbouring offices.

A growing partnership

With work also progressing on levels 4 and 5 of the building, we’re excited to share more from this successful partnership, a testament to great teamwork, collaboration and shared vision – stay tuned!
