Investing in our future talent means giving them the knowledge and confidence to work safely from day one.
Every few months, our commercial, technical services and project management trainees visit active Parkeray sites as part of their ongoing development.
Led by Health & Safety Manager, Paddy Keeble, these sessions bring health and safety to life. Through site walks and practical discussions, trainees are encouraged to think beyond policies and procedures, developing an understanding of how safe behaviours and proactive risk management contribute to successful project delivery.
This practical exposure helps build confidence, strengthens their understanding of industry standards, and equips them with the tools and knowledge they can apply throughout their careers.
Reflecting on the day, Paddy said:
“It’s always a pleasure taking our trainees out onto site and helping them understand the importance of health and safety first-hand.
By exposing our Trainees to sites, through the lens of Health & Safety management, also assists in “baking in” safety to their decision-making processes, so that when they graduate, they too can help to reduce risk in their own areas of influence.
They’re a great opportunity to reinforce the importance of good health and safety management, share practical knowledge, and help our future professionals build confidence in real working environments.”
