Sophie Gore

Sophie joins our team of trainees and is currently at Southbank University completing a Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship. She knew about the industry from family connections and was attracted to our scheme which enables her to complete her studies whilst gaining practical experiences at the same time.

Friendly and easy to get along with, Sophie is always eager to help the team. A quick learner she enjoys seeing the project develop from start to finish, working with different people along the way.

In her spare time, Sophie likes to spend time with her friends and family, enjoying a nice meal or just catching up. She also finds time to watch a good movie or bake something delicious in the kitchen. Always up for a challenge Sophie also conquered Ben Nevis in less than six hours!

Step outside your comfort zone, for that’s where life begins.

Amelia Marshall

Impressed by just how much Parkeray supports and invests in its trainees, plus Mike Murray’s emphasis on fun, Amelia knew that our trainee scheme was the place for her. With family and friends both recommending not only the industry but also Parkeray to her, Amelia joins us and is currently completing a HNC Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship.

Amelia enjoys the diversity that her role offers and likes the balance between the office and site environments whilst learning at the same time. Friendly and honest she loves being part of a team and always gives 100%

When she isn’t at work, Amelia likes to spend time with friends and family or attend festivals and concerts as she loves music. Her other passion is football and plays regularly at the weekend, that’s when she’s not watching her favourite team, Liverpool on the TV.

Progress, not perfection

Thomas Parker

Our trainee scheme came highly recommended to Thomas through a family member in the industry. The more he learnt, the more he realised it was the right choice for career for him to pursue. Currently studying his Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship, he is enjoying the variation of working and studying at the same time.

Hardworking and friendly Thomas enjoys meeting new people and interacting with all members of the project team on site. He is looking forward to taking on new, exciting challenges and seeing the diversity that you get to experience on each different scheme.

When he’s not working Thomas likes to go to the gym to keep fit. He also follows MMA, boxing and football and if there is any spare time after that will catch up with friends, going to festivals and raves.

You didn’t come this far to only come this far.

Bailey Upton

With construction running in the family, the obvious choice for Bailey was the Parkeray Trainee Scheme.  Bailey completed some valuable work experience with us and enjoyed it so much he decided to stay. Keen to learn, he is excited by the challenges that lie ahead on and is currently completing his Construction Quantity Surveying Technician Apprenticeship.

Bailey enjoys getting out and about on site to see meet new people and is learn new techniques. He is enthusiastic, hardworking and dependable, which makes him a great asset to any project team.

In his spare time Bailey likes to go to the gym or play video games but his main passion is Rugby. He plays and trains on a regular basis and was proud to have been part of the Sussex Under 18 squad.

What is the reason we fall? So we can learn to pick ourselves up again.

Finley Richards

Having had previous work experience assisting and shadowing project managers on-site, Finley decided project management is the right career for him. The combination of working whilst studying attracted him to our trainee scheme. Finley is completing his HNC Construction (Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship) at Southbank University.

Whether walking around on-site,  getting hands-on and learning new things every day, Finley likes to be busy. Hardworking and personable, He is looking forward to growing his industry knowledge and meeting new people.

When he isn’t at work, Finley likes to go to the gym, meet up with friends and is a bit of a gamer. He also enjoys the outdoors and going clay pigeon shooting.

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade.

Riley Morse

When deciding what to do next in his career, Riley liked the integration between on-site learning and studying at university. The Parkeray Trainee Scheme offers him the ability to gain skills and knowledge as a project manager while he completes his HNC Construction (Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship) at Southbank University.

Riley is easygoing and enjoys meeting new people. He is looking forward to watching a project develop from start through to completion and helping out along the way. With no two days the same, Riley relishes the challenge of becoming a project manager.

When he’s not working, Riley is into health and fitness, socialising with friends and catching up with family.

Ben Budd

A career in construction was the obvious choice for Ben, as it runs in the family. Keen to learn and develop his skills, Ben previously completed a BTech Engineering Foundation course which gave him valuable knowledge and practical experience in mechanical and electrical disciplines. He now furthers his studies at Southbank University with an HNC in Building Services Engineering.

Not wanting to sit behind a desk every day, Ben enjoys getting out and about on-site to see how a project comes together. He is calm, hardworking and enjoys meeting new people and being part of the team.

Ben is a big sports fan and enjoys football and golf in his spare time. He also likes to go to the gym to keep fit and meet up with friends for nights out.

Zoe Flint

Needing a career change and prepared to take the plunge, Zoe wanted to make a fresh start, so when a friend recommended Parkeray’s Trainee Scheme, she decided it was the perfect opportunity. Without any previous experience, Zoe is excited to learn and work her way up.

Zoe is looking forward to studying for her HNC Construction and The Built Environment at Southbank University whilst gaining practical experience on-site. Hardworking, enthusiastic and an excellent communicator, Zoe likes to get the job done!

Outside of work, she spends most of her free time creating bespoke balloon decorations for events. It’s a very successful business she set up during the pandemic. She also enjoys spending time with family and friends and attending festivals.

She believed she could, so she did.

Michaela Maloney

Most of Michaela’s family already work in the industry, which sparked her intrigue and interest in a career in construction. Michaela is currently studying for an HNC in Construction and the Built Environment at Southbank University and says this opportunity is the perfect balance of gaining working experience alongside learning.

Helpful, honest and focused, Michaela works well as part of a team and is looking forward to meeting new people, being pushed out of her comfort zone, learning something new every day and having new experiences.

Fun and spontaneous, Michaela loves to go to concerts and music festivals in her spare time. She also likes to socialise with friends, travel abroad and find exciting new places!

Connie Shanahan

Connie has already completed two years of her full-time university course and now joins our graduate scheme to continue studying towards her BA Hons Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying), Chartered Surveying Degree Apprenticeship.

Inquisitive and hardworking, Connie is always up for learning something new and enjoys meeting new people. Her previous experience means she is good with people, an excellent communicator, and a valuable member of the team.

Bubbly and outgoing Connie always makes time for her friends and family and as a big music lover, she likes to go to concerts and festivals. If there is any free time after that, she is also a qualified nail technician!

Nathan Wright

Nathan is one of our trainees and is currently studying for his HNC Construction (Construction Site Supervisor Apprenticeship) at London Southbank University. The scheme was recommended to him from a family friend, and it has opened his eyes to the career opportunities available in construction.

Eager to learn, enthusiastic and hardworking, Nathan’s positive attitude makes him an asset to any project team. Whether at college or on site, he enjoys being challenged with new tasks and responsibilities as no two days are ever the same.

To relax Nathan enjoys going out with friends to festivals and working out at the gym. When he gets the time, he can be found in the stands at Craven Cottage watching his beloved Fulham FC.

Miru Zelalem

Miru originally started her full-time university course but then heard about the Parkeray graduate scheme. Working and studying at the same time was something Miru had always considered, so combining the two suits her perfectly.

Hardworking, approachable, and determined to get things right, she will always go out of her way to help people. Miru enjoys the diversity of the commercial manager role and likes the variation between the office and site environment. Currently studying towards her BA Hons Commercial Management (Quantity Surveying) (Construction Quantity Surveying Apprenticeship) Miru says she is really enjoying it!

Outdoorsy and adventurous Miru is always up for trying something new. To relax, she likes to get creative, listen to music, and enjoys games night but has been known to get very competitive! When she isn’t catching up with friends, she likes to go longboarding.
