Parkeray Delivers Fit Out Of Getty Images’ New London HQ

We are delighted to support Getty Images’ relocation to Duo Spitalfields with the fit out of their new London HQ.

Getty Images is a preeminent global visual content creator and marketplace.. Their decision to move from their offices in Camden to the City was influenced by a workplace study, which highlighted moving to a smaller office space would enable better communication, collaboration, and flexible working.

Our team, led by Senior Project Manager John Worley worked closely with the architects at Bluebottle and the professional team to deliver the fit out of the HQ space to a fast-track programme of 14 weeks.

The scope of work involved the construction of flexible working spaces, collaboration and breakout areas and an editing suite across the 10,400 sq ft floor plate.

Lighting and state-of-the-art digital technology were key to providing an impactful entrance space. Flashbulb pendant light installations to the ceiling create a bold statement piece and references Getty Images’ photographic heritage. We also fitted a 110-inch screen (one of the largest of its kind, to be installed in the UK) to display visual content from their vast archive.

Added Value

We added value to the scheme by reusing items from the base build, such as the existing raft ceiling, which ran the entire length of the floor plate. Instead of stripping it out, it was adapted to accommodate the new layout. 15 new panels were added to provide access to the existing base build services and the existing lighting reconfigured to suit.

Successful Outcomes

The finished space has delivered a series of successful outcomes for Getty Images. Notably, record staff attendance post-relocation, with double the number of staff coming into the office. In addition to the ability to fully support their day-to-day operations, from video and photograph editing to in-house content shoots, which would not have been possible in their previous office.

We used the office last weekend for a business/office-themed shoot to create new content for our collection that we will then license to customers. We would never have been able to do this in our old office, but the new space lends itself perfectly to creating content that reflects a modern working environment.”

The success of this project can be attributed to great teamwork and collaboration between our client, the professional team, and our super supply chain members.

We wish Getty Images’ all the best in their new home.
