Parkeray Hosts Girls Talk Construction Webinar

On Monday 20 July we were delighted to host Girls Talk Construction the first in a series of Parkeray webinars focused on careers in the construction industry.

Two girls schools Old Palace, Croydon and the Rosebery School, Epsom joined us online for the Q&A, which featured 10 amazing panellists – both Parkeray clients, friends and associates with backgrounds in architecture, design, engineering, project management, quantity surveying, supply chain and business development.

Parkeray Girls Talk Construction Panel

As an introduction to construction with a particular focus on fit-out, the webinar helped showcase the variety of career options available within the industry and was chaired by Parkeray COO, Clare Ashmore.

Girls Talk Construction was very much an informal affair, think daytime talk show! Our open and honest panellists offered gems of advice, described their career journeys and what they enjoy the most about working in the construction industry. Although everyone’s path differed from falling into the sector, taking the graduate route to starting out in a completely different field, their stories highlighted that a willingness to learn and a can-do attitude are both winning qualities for success.

A big thank you to our lovely panellists for taking part in the event:

  • Alex Parsons: Kajima Properties
  • Anna Vallius: Vibry Ross Design & Construction
  • Bongai Muyambo: Chapmanbdsp
  • Clare Ashmore: Parkeray
  • Elspeth Webb: Savills
  • Natasha Rantle: APS Consultancy
  • Racheal Cadey: Edge
  • Sophie Riley: Parkeray
  • Sarah Kelly: Parkeray
  • Sandra Weerasinghe: Parkeray

Girls Talk Construction is the first in a series of career-based events hosted by Parkeray. Stay tuned for further events in the autumn.
